1. Iran Art Review began its work on the first day of autumn 2009. The website is to be upgraded to a main and more elaborate version after final establishment of supporting official structures.

2. Our intension is to turn Iran Art Review into a comprehensive bilingual live archive documenting the history of contemporary art in Iran as well as rationalizing the practice of exhibition review writing in Iran.

3. Iran Art Review tends to encourage creativity in criticism by supporting the idea of artist/critic and attempting to blur the boundary between the two as well as reinforcing the theoretical backbone of art production in Iran.

4. Iran Art Review welcomes reviews which incorporate other media and go beyond literary tools in communicating with their addressees.

5. Our aim is to prioritize authorship over translation and create a space where Iranian contemporary art may speak of itself.

6. Iran Art Review commissions the reviews but welcomes reader’s comments and freelancers.

7. We believe Iranian contemporary artworks deserve international recognition and effective support and have built our work upon that belief.

8. In the website, our aim is to inform, interpret and elucidate the quality of Iranian contemporary art today.

9. We try to cover all visual arts exhibitions with the priority given to contemporary art in Tehran. We also cover all important contemporary art events we hear of across Iran.

10. In its design and development, our priority is an interactive democratized website.
